Digital Coloring

Hello crafty friends! We are almost at the end of 2021 - can you believe it?? Today I have a different sort of project to show you, something that I have been wanting to try for a long time. It is also my entry for this month's Imagine That Digistamps progressive challenge.

One day at a time

It is time for BożenA and I to show you our latest challenge. But "latest" is definitely a stretch of the imagination. It was my turn to choose a topic and I chose "Create an art journal page". But shortly after the suggestion, my world sort of started looking quite different and so I was out of inspiration. And when it returned, you are seeing a very different page to what I had in mind when I suggested the challenge.

Yorkshire Terrier

I was not able to post last week. I am still struggling with creativity, so using die cuts or my Silhouette with an SVG file is just perfect for still creating without the need to have much mojo. I recently discovered Craft with Sarah and her SVG files and so today I am showing you a card I made with her Yorkshire Terrier.

Gnomey Hello

I spent some days over the holidays last week coloring. I love using my pencils, it is so peaceful and relaxing and just the therapy I needed. You saw the little rabbit on Tuesday and today I have a magical scene to show you.

Teal Rabbit

By the skin of my teeth, I am still in time to participate in this month's Kinda Cute Progressive Challenge. The image this month is this cute bunny. I decided he needed to be a unique character.

November Progressive Challenge

I hope all of you that celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful day yesterday. Today I am sharing my project for this month's Imagine That Digistamp progressive challenge. The image is called Truckin Santa Paws and I opted to use the precolored digi this month.

November Sheetload

Another short post today. The November Sheetload of cards called for 6x6 papers and I have some of those too, though not as much as the 12x12 I have that was gifted to me by a friend.

October Sheetload

Today I am back with another short blog post as I am still away to attend the funeral. I have been working on the October Sheetload of Cards for a good while and never got them completed in October. But today I can show you what I made.

Color Blocking

Hello blogland friends. Today I just have a short post for you as we have had a death in the family and so the next two weeks will prove to be quite different to expected. I also wish to take this opportunity to thank you so much for still visiting my blog when I have not had the ability to return the favor in the last weeks. I will resume my visits again as soon as possible and I look forward to that.

Little Fairy

Happy Friday friends. Now I can show you this card as the recipient that I made it for has received it. My friend recently celebrated a birthday and she has not been well, so I opted for a bright cheery scene with an element of cuteness.

November Crafty Chefs

Today I am back with a second card for the day. This one is for the new challenge that started at Crafty Chefs. The two ingredients for our recipe this month are 1. Make a Holiday card and 2. Use patterned paper.

Epilepsy Awareness

Here we are in November and November is Epilepsy Awareness month. Epilepsy is a truly debilitating condition and yet so few really know about it. When I still made teddy bears, I used to make a special awareness bear every year that donated a large part of the proceeds to various foundations.

Under my Umbrella

Today is Friday and I am late again with my blog post for today. It seems like this week was really a tough one and so I just did not get to preparing my posts in advance. But I want to share my make for this month's Imagine That Digistamp Progressive Challenge. The image is the cutie called Lizzy's Umbrella.

Dinner Option

The end of the month is racing towards us and I have not yet had a chance to post my projects for the two progressive challenges that I play along in. Today I am showing you the one that I made for the Kinda Cute Facebook Group challenge.

Christmas Wreath

Happy Friday again! Today I have a Christmas card to show you. I have wanted to make cards with Christmas wreaths for a long time and this year I found the perfect (in my opinion, anyway) die set to make a wreath with and so here goes. I made this one very traditional.

Broken Heart

Hello friends, unfortunately I am back today with another sympathy card to show you. This one is for a lady who lost her eldest son. I decided to depict some imagery on this one for her.

Friday, October 15, 2021

Daisy cards

Friday again! Today I have a few encouragement cards to share. I made 5 using the same technique, but different colors. I am always fascinated by the emboss resist technique and so that is what happened on these cards.

Tuesday, October 12, 2021

Rings of cardstock

Today I am here again with another sympathy card. This one went to a friend in Florida who lost her husband. I used another technique that I learned in the "Crushing on Cardstock" course that I did recently.

More fairy gardens

Today I am back again with some fairy gardens. I had another play with my Whimsy Stamps Build a Fairy Garden die set and created these two cards.

October at Crafty Chefs

It is the first Tuesday of the month and so time for a new Crafty Chefs challenge. The two ingredients for our card recipe this month are "Do some coloring" and "Use dry embossing". Here is my example make for the challenge.

Happy Duck

I cannot believe that it is Friday again and also that we are in the last quarter of 2021!! But it is so. Today is Friday and so I am back with a project to share with you. Today I have a special digi. It was a pencil sketch that a special lady drew and I converted into a digi.

September Sheetload

Hello friends. Today I am back with another Sheetload of Cards post. I created with the September 2021 sketch which I used to make these two orange and grid cards that I think work well for masculine cards.

New Dies

Good morning from an overcast Arizona. We had some rain yesterday, sort of a soft rain and not a wild thunderstorm so that was a change. So recently Spellbinders had a warehouse sale and had some of their dies deeply discounted. It coincided with my having a little spending money, so guess what happened!!

Work of Heart

Today I am here to show you the results of a play day I had on Saturday. I wanted to make some cards to send to each of you that always comment on my blog. I so appreciate you taking the time to do so and your kind words. So this card had to incorporate many things that us crafters enjoy doing.

Donut Delight

Happy Friday! Again! It seems like I turn around once and it is Friday again. Anyway, I am here with a project to share with you. Somehow I got myself into the Kinda Cute Progressive Challenge last month and so I got this month's image to create with. Wow, look at all those carbs - a donut as big as oneself!!

Tuesday, September 14, 2021

Natural Element

Today's project is another joint challenge between myself and BożenA of Art Card Box. It was her turn to call the theme and she chose "Use something from nature". So the card had to have some element on it that was either a part of a plant or for which a plant was used. Well, I live in the desert! Although the world is green here at the moment thanks to the monsoons, that is not the norm. But what we do have all year round are cacti and cacti have thorns and thorns look like unicorn horns. So I could combine nature with the magical - I think that is a win.

Meerkat Christmas

Happy Friday! Today I am here with my contribution to the Imagine That Digistamp September progressive challenge. One of the images we got is this meerkat popping out of his hole with a gift. I decided since his outline was not that complicated, I would give merging two cut files, one for the background and one for the digi, together to create one panel another try.

New Crafty Chefs Challenge

Today is the first Tuesday of the month and so time for a new Crafty Chefs challenge. As I had announced in my previous Crafty Chefs post, we now only have two requirements to enter. This month the requirements are "Add a flower" (can be focal image, embellishment or background) and "Add Gold" (can be embossing, foil, gold cardstock, etc).

Friday, September 3, 2021

Kind and Beautiful

Today is Friday again and so time for another coloring project. This time I am using a Conie Fong image on my card and this is the second experiment that I have done trying to merge a background with a focal image in Silhouette Studio. As I said in my previous post, this needs more practice.

Almost only cardstock

Last week I attended an online card class called "Crushing on Cardstock" and while some techniques were familiar to me, some were new and I enjoyed learning new things and being reminded of ones I knew. So today my project is cardstock, adhesive and a little bit of ink.

Friday, August 27, 2021

Moo-velous!

It is Friday again. How do the weeks (and months) fly by so fast? Anyway, I am playing along with the Imagine That Digistamp's Progressive Challenge and this month the image is called Pretty Calf. It came with some image variations and a few sentiments.

Tuesday, August 24, 2021

Thank you

Today I just have a short post to share with you. I recently discovered Cards for Soldiers and have been filling my donation box with my cards to send to them. I decided that a few of the cards should be for the service members themselves and so I visited the Silhouette Store.

Friday, August 20, 2021

Black and Blue

I am so excited to share today's post with you. This is another challenge between BożenA and I and it was my turn to choose the topic. I decided that the challenge was to be for each of us to visit the other one's blog and choose a project that inspired us and create from that inspiration.

Tuesday, August 17, 2021

August Sheetload

Today I want to share another Sheetload of Cards post with you. I got the August sketch from Call Me Crafty Al's Youtube Channel and made two variations.

Friday, August 13, 2021

Snail Mail

It is Friday the 13th and here I am talking about snail mail. Today I am sharing this card that I made using a digi from Kinda Cute. I colored the image with my Prismacolor colored pencils.

Oxides and Water

Hello dear friends! Today I have two cards to show you that I made doing similar techniques, but slightly differently applied. I had a play with my Distress Oxide inks and some water.

Friday, August 6, 2021

Fairy Garden Die Set

Today I am here with a bit of a different coloring post. I did not use my pencils, but rather my Arteza Brush Markers and inks. When I came across this die set from Whimsy Stamps some time ago, I knew I needed those toadstools. They are layering dies, so perfect for creating great visuals. The fact that there are 4 little fairies in the set too, cannot hurt.

Crafty Chefs Challenge

Hello friends. Today I have a very simple card to show you for our new challenge over at Crafty Chefs. I have opted to help revive the challenges there again and we have reduced the recipe to only two ingredients. This month it is "Use a die cut and add a sentiment to the front of your card". Here is my make.

Storybook Coloring

Today I have something different to show you. I recently participated in an online card summit and one of the presenters, Daniel West, did a class on Storybook Coloring with Copic markers. Well if you follow my blog, you know that I am not a Copic girl. But I decided that there should be some way for me to use his instructions and do it with my pencils. These cute stamps drawn by Conie Fong Art were the perfect images to play with.

Sheetload of Cards

Patterned paper!! Raise your hand if you have a stockpile of it. I decided that I needed to use mine up. I had been blessed with box full by a friend of mine some years ago, but I have hardly used any of it. I recently discovered the Call Me {Crafty} Al YouTube channel and was inspired by her concept called Sheetload of Cards. Guess what it uses... you got it, patterned paper.

Cheese & Nuts

Today is Friday and time for another blog post. Today I am sharing my project, well projects, for the monthly Imagine That Digitstamp Progressive Challenge. This month the theme is Christmas in July. However, I don't do the "animal nativity scene" thing, so I had to put my thinking cap on. But the package included the images as a whole and as singles and so I decided that the two single mice would make perfect, quirky cards, despite their outfits. So here goes.

A Bookmark

Today I am back with another project created for the ongoing challenge that BożenA and I do together. It was her turn to call the topic and she chose "Create a Bookmark". There were no requirements of any kind as to method, technique or anything else, just create a bookmark. I don't read much anymore and when I do, I read on my Kindle, so I decided to create a bookmark for my journaling Bible and use it to highlight a verse that spoke to me recently.

Eclipse technique

Today I am back with another challenge between BożenA and myself and this time it was my turn to choose a challenge topic. I decided to go with a technique this time and with one that I have been wanting to try for a while - the eclipse technique. So here is my project.

Some technology

If you follow my blog, you will know that I love to play along in the Imagine That Digistamp Progressive Challenge. I am nearly out of time for June! This month the image is perfect for a garden enthusiast and the package comes with various quirky sentiments.

Sharing is Caring

Tonight I am popping in with my project for the Outlawz Progressive Challenge for June and June is nearly over! The sponsor is The Paper Shelter and the image is this cutie called Sharing is Caring. The image package comes with this lovely digital background.

Mailchimp

This post is not a project, but I am dealing with the email subscription that is now obsolete here on Blogger. Those of you who also have blogs will know about it.

For the sake of those that don't blog, but are email followers of my blog, the service that sent you those emails will no longer function at the end of this month. So in order for you to keep getting my blog posts in your email, I have had to migrate the list to Mailchimp, the new service that I am using.

All of you that were active email users, I have migrated you to Mailchimp. If you no longer wish to receive my blog posts by email, you can unsubscribe through the link at the bottom of the email.

I would appreciate if you could leave a comment on this post or reply to the email to let me know whether or not you received this post by email.

My new Brother

So who is my new Brother - well a printer, of course!! Our old printer had been going astray for a while and it had got onto my last nerve. Also, it would not take any thicker paper, so true one layer cards were not something I could do. So when needing a new printer, the ability for it to take thicker paper was a must. I wanted a laser so I could foil and so that I could print digis and use water based mediums. So yes, I had a laundry list of requirements. But I found one that filled them all. The Brother HL-L3290CDW. After initial setup and testing, the first thicker paper to test was watercolor paper and it printed my digi beautifully through the through pass for thicker paper.

Go Fly a Kite

Hello Bloggy Friends. I am still writing to you from, at times, a chilly South Africa. My scheduled return to the US is in two weeks from yesterday. I know someone there who is counting the days.

Today I am showing you my play with this month's Imagine That Digistamp Progressive Challenge image called Go Fly a Kite. I opted to use the mouse and create a CAS card.

Mother's Day

Hello, here I am writing to you from the southern tip of Africa! I apologize for the delay in getting to visit your blogs, but the last week has been rather crazy with a long journey and some official stuff I had to get taken care of. But here I am with another project for a challenge between BożenA and I. It was her turn to name a topic and she decided to go with something that I could easily do while on the go - make a card for Mom.

My flower book

I recently invested in a Dylusions Creative Journal as I wanted to start a flower book. I was inspired by Vicki's "A Year in Flowers". My first double spread needed to be dedicated to the Rose - one of my favorite flowers.
