Friday again! Today I have a few encouragement cards to share. I made 5 using the same technique, but different colors. I am always fascinated by the emboss resist technique and so that is what happened on these cards.
Using the Craft-a-Flower Daisy die set, I cut the flowers from different colors, but all of them got the base layer cut out of vellum. I wanted the centers to still show the background, however in a muted way.
I stamped all my panels with Versamark ink and an old Stampin Up background stamp and then embossed the stripes with white embossing powder. The stamp is meant to make these sort of distressed looking stripes and I rather like the effect.
Then using different Memento inks from my stash, I inked the backgrounds, leaving the bottom left-hand corners uninked.
I added the panels to white cardbases and arranged my daisies in that bottom left-hand corner so that they formed the transition between inked and uninked background.
I completed each card with the "prayers" die cut sentiment, cut out of white cardstock. Each one of them was then committed to the mailman for different recipients.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful set of daisy cards. The white daisy really catches my eye.
ReplyDeleteHi Monica, what a cool experiment, love the cards it produced. LOL even the plaid daisies. The vellum adds the effects you wanted, I clicked on them to make bigger to see your deets. I have to say the white die cuts just pop gloriously against the striped paper. Great job! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think it's fascinating how different cards can look using the same die but with different colors of CS and paper. Love the daisies you cut from the plaid! WOW on that one for sure. :-D
ReplyDeleteI love the background in your cards, they look like English wallpaper in the living room :-) I also like the use of velin to make the flower centers show a bit of the background color. Great design, Monica
ReplyDeletehugs,
