Beautiful tulips

Today I am back again with my last DT creation for Crafting with an Attitude. How time flies - I have been there a year already. The sponsor this month is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I am using the image called 4 block tulip square.

Friends

Since it is the first Thursday of the month, we have a new challenge over at Crafting with an Attitude. The theme is always anything goes, so you can pop over and enter your project there. This month the sponsor is Digi Doodle Studio and the winner will receive three single images.

I chose to work with this sweet Girlfriends digi. I composed the design of the card in Silhouette Studio, determining the placement of the digi and creating the cutout for the word "friends".

The Purple Rose

It is time for a new challenge over at Crafting with an Attitude and this month our sponsor is Morgan's Artworld. The prize is 3 images and the theme is Anything Goes. So pop over and link your project up.

For my project I used the image "Valentine" Single Rose. I printed it out through Silhouette Studio onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored it up with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I love purple roses and so that is what this one became.

Another Lacy Sunshine project

I chose to work with Summer Daisies Flower Pot Pretties for my design team project. I thought her little boot made the cutest treehouse.

New to me artist

Today I want to introduce a new-to-me artist to you - Lemon Shortbread. Vera is the sponsor at this month's challenge over at Crafting with an Attitude and this is my DT project. I chose to work with Watering Fairy.

I printed the image out onto Canson Mi Tientes paper and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I then cut the image out with a stitched rectangle die, but adjusted the size of the panel by doing some partial die cutting.

I am back with another DT project for the new challenge over at Crafting with an Attitude. This month the challenge is sponsored by Lacy Sunshine and I chose to work the with image called Bowbo's Music.

Bugaboo Stamps

It is time for another challenge over at Crafting with an Attitude and this is my Design Team project for the challenge. The sponsor this month is Bugaboo Stamps and since I love to color flowers, I chose to work with Flower Butterfly Corner.

I arranged the digi and my sentiment into a 4.25 x 5.5 inch notecard size space using MS Word on my computer. The font for the sentiment is Honey Script. I also love to use it to cut sentiments with my Silhouette machine. I printed it out on Stathmore Paint Pad paper and colored the image with my Prismacolor colored pencils.

I do love coloring flowers and so this beautiful digi was a pleasure to color. I colored the butterflies blue so that the were noticeable and did not blend into the flowers.

I did the background with soft pastels, creating a gradient of 4 colors from a light yellow, to a dark yellow to a light orange and then to a dark orange. I sprayed the complete panel with workable fixative before adhering it to a black cardbase.

New Friends

A new month and time for another challenge at Crafting with An Attitude. This month the sponsor is Beccy's Place. Beccy's shop was new to me and I enjoyed browsing through it. She has digis as well as clear stamps.

I chose the image New Friends for my project. I loved the depiction of two very different individuals being happy to see each other. I created a Christmas card.

I opted to use only one traditional color and replaced the green with a non-traditional blue - which I used various shades of throughout my card. I printed the digi onto Strathmore Toned Tan paper and colored it with my Prismacolor pencils. I decided the little boy's jacket needed some stripes and so I added them. Coloring on the Toned Tan paper makes the pencil coloring pop so - I love it!

I colored the snow with my white pencil and applied the shading with the Cool Greys. Once completed, I covered the area with Zig 2-way glue and added Bridal Tinsel embossing powder. The heat applied to melt the embossing powder caused the glue to bubble and give me that cool texture.

I added a 5.75x5.75 square of background paper with snowflakes on it onto my 6x6 cardpanel. My focal image was cut down to 4.25x4.25 and I framed it with a cutout of a 4.5x4.5 silver glitter square from my DCWV Washi Tape stack.

I stamped the sentiment onto dark blue cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I cut it out with a stitched banner die and popped it onto the card with foamtape.

Ellie and her bouquet

It is time for another challenge over at Crafting with an Attitude and this month's challenge is "Just for fun".

With the freedom to choose any image for my DT project, I dove into my stash of Conie Fong Art images and colored up this sweet elephant. The image is called Ellie with Bouquet.

As always, I used my Prismacolor pencils. But since I was travelling, I had taken only the 48 set with me and so challenged myself to color in the image with a limited palette. The flower coloring was inspired by a beautiful flower a dear friend had in a vase on her table. It was pink with purple edges.

I then cut the image out with a stitched rectangle die, leaving white space at the bottom for a sentiment I had cut out on my Silhouette machine of black cardstock. I applied the panel to a pink cardbase and then glued the sentiment in place.

I hope you like this clean and simple card with the sweet elephant on it. I love cards with a hello sentiment on them. They are so versatile and can be sent for any occasion.

The Freakshake

Time for a new challenge over at Crafting with an Attitude and this is my DT project. The sponsor this month is Dis' Digi Stamps and the winner has the chance to get 3 of her images, all of which are so cute!

What is a Freakshake you may ask? Well Collins' Dictionary explains it as "monstrous morphed milkshake".  And what a treat to eat and to color up! When Alyce at Kit and Clowder posted the May class and it used the image called Squeak Shake by Di's Digi Stamps, I had to jump in.

I colored the image up with my Prismacolor colored pencils. It was so much fun to do, each little part doing its bit to complete the whole.

The sweet treats in the shake were great practice for lightsource and other art fundmentals that helps us achieve depth in our coloring.

Once I had finished the coloring, I trimmed the image down and sponged the edges with Desert Sand Memento ink. I added it to a dark teal card panel and then the panel onto a 5x7 cardbase. I stamped the Happy Birthday with Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear heat embossed it.

Your new home

Today I have a very exciting post to share with you. I have been chosen to be on the Design Team over at Crafting with an Attitude. This is my first time as a Design Team member and this is my first project with the team.

The sponsor in the current challenge is Lacy Sunshine and the image I used  is called Enchanting Treasure Cove Fairy House. I thought this was just perfect for a "congrats on your new home" card.

I printed the image onto Strathmore Paint Pad paper and colored it up with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Obviously some of the colors are less realistic, but is that not what one expects from an enchanted fairy house? Details were added with gel pens.

Once completed I cut the image out with a stitched rectangle die and adhere it to the front of a A2 cardbase. I cut the letters making up "your home" out on my Silhouette machine and glued them to the front in a whimsy arrangement.
