Creating with toner foil and copic markers

Today I am here to show you my first project for the month of November for Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog. I wanted to try combining some foiling with a little bit of Copic coloring and still keep the card CAS.

Using Silhouette Studio to get good placement of the design, I placed the sentiment twice and then removed one of the words from each instance so that I had a stacked sentiment result. I added the birds to the top of the words, with enough space so that I could foil the sentiment without  getting any foil on the birds - remembering that since all was printed on a laser printer, it was all toner and would foil if foil was placed on it. I printed one panel onto white cardstock and one panel onto a light teal cardstock.

I lined the foil up carefully before sending it through the Minc machine so that it only covered the sentiment. I fussy cut the birds from the teal printed panel and added some shading with my Copic markers and the Copic blender. I used BG49, BG15 and BG10.

I completed the card by gluing the teal birds on top of the printed ones on the white panel and then using a black glaze pen to add legs and dots on the eyes. I matted the panel onto a teal piece before adhering the panel to a white cardbase.

We look forward to seeing you in this month's Anything Goes challenge at Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog. You have a month to enter and you have an additional chance at a prize if you use one of Jan's digis on your project.

Using G

Today I am sharing my last project for this year for the Christmas BINGO Challenge. This challenge starts in November and goes until December 15. This is now the final push to complete this year's Christmas cards.

I chose to use the G column this time and the three elements that I used were Red, Die Cuts and FREE. For my FREE element, I used foiling. I recently acquired a Minc machine after much deliberation and my only regret was that I had not done so sooner. On this card I printed the background pattern onto red cardstock with my laser printer and then foiled it with gold foil. The focal point is a Spellbinders poinsettia die which I cut out a white and out of gold cardstock. I colored the white flower leaves with copic markers and inlayed them into the gold outline.

I completed my card with a preprinted sentiment from Waffle Flower. We hope you will join our Christmas BINGO Challenge. You can choose any three elements from one of the BINGO columns (don't forget to mention what you chose in your blog post). The challenge runs for six weeks.

Foiled Christmas

Good morning from Arizona. It is time for the mid month inspiration over at Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog and since I have just taken the leap to buy a Minc machine, of course I had to do some foiling.

I used the new "Santa's Coming" stamp set and added the precolored holly branch image to each corner of the top of the card, flipping the right hand one horizontally. I added the Joyful Christmas from the same stamp set further down on the card panel and then printed the panel out on my laser printer. I then added a small piece of gold foil to the sentiment, being sure that I did not get any onto the colored image. I then ran the panel through the Minc and the results were beautiful. I was so pleased.

I completed the card by adding the cardpanel to a gold cardstock matte and then the matte onto a white top-folding cardbase. The foil and the gold cardstock are a great match.

I hope you will join us at Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge blog. You still have till the end of the month to enter your project. As always, it is Anything Goes.

Paper Pattern

We have October, people!! I can hardly believe it. This is my first card this month for Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog and today I have been playing on my tablet again in the app Procreate.

I used the pre-colored candy cane image from the stamp set and created the background patterned paper by arranging the candy canes in horizontal lines, alternating the orientation of the canes. I then placed an uncolored PNG version of the image on top of the background in a new layer and colored it in Procreate - experimenting with light and shadows. I opted for a green bow here - just because. I placed a white outline to the image on a layer between the cane and the background, to give it that sticker look and so that my colored candy cane would be differentiated from the background.

I then printed out the cardpanel and added it to a white A2 cardbase. I die cut the sentiment out of white cardstock and added it to the card. While the die cut adds a little dimension, that is all that is physically popped up on the card.

We would love to see your creation over at Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog. The theme is always Anything Goes and you have a month to enter.

Gnome Hugs

Today I am here with two cards that I created with some dies that Spellbinders sent me. The first card is a large gnome with a snowflake. This die set is special in that the gnome has large arms that can be positioned outwards or, like I did, inwards.

New Crafty Goodies

It is Friday again and here I am with my projects for my challenge with BożenA. It was her turn to call the challenge theme and she chose "stencils". She could not have timed it better as I had just received my new crafty toys from Waffle Flower which consisted of the Postage Collage stencil set and I also had time to spend in my craft room. So I made three cards.

Sending Hugs

Today I have a card that has something that I have never tried before -a one layer card panel using Copic markers. I have always been nervous about doing this because I was afraid that the markers would bleed into the background. This is my first project this month for Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog.

A Die Cut Scene

Hello friends, today I am back with a new project challenge between myself and BożenA. I can hear what you are saying "That was fast!" Yes, this time we were quick in creating our projects and are excited to publish today.

Tissue Paper and Ink

Today I am here with a project for a challenge with BożenA. It has been a very long time that we last published a challenge, but that is completely my fault. Not only have I not been able to spend time in my craft room, but I have also been traveling. It was BożenA's turn to call the challenge and she chose a technique using tissue paper, inks and texture. Fortunately she gave me some references, but techniques like this are way out of my comfort zone.

Beary Christmas

I am here again with another project for Jan's Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog and this time I am using an image and sentiment from an older stamp set. Is the classy bear lady not too cute?

Another Guest Design

I am excited to share another guest design project with you today. This is for the challenge blog “Kleuren met Potloden”. I was given the image from All Dressed Up called Crown of Hearts for the challenge. Those of you who follow my blog know that I am learning Procreate. I had drawn this background as part of a Procreate tutorial and thought this would make the perfect background for this little princess.

Truly one layer

Today is time for my second project for Jan's Digital Stamps Challenge blog for this month and this month I am showing that digital stamps and elements are great to use when creating digital card fronts that can then just be printed on heavyweight cardstock and easily sent in the mail.

Stylish Ovals

I am here today with a very picture heavy post. Spellbinders sent me some goodies to create with, however just after they arrived I was not at home very much. So my projects are rather late in the release. But it is a gorgeous release, one die set more versatile than the other.

My first project is using the Essential Stylish Ovals die set as well as the gorgeous embossing folder from this release. I wanted to show off the embossing folder on this card and so let it shine on center stage. I used the largest oval in the set to create my cardbase with, used a smaller one to cut the panel that I then embossed and finally used the smaller one and one size bigger to cut a frame from holographic cardstock. The sentiment is from another set in this release called Stylish Oval Hello You Floral dies set.

Christmas BINGO

I am back today with a second project, this time one that is completely opposite to my previous one. This one is created with paper and die cuts and does not have anything digital on it. I accepted a position on the Design Team at the new Christmas BINGO Challenge blog. The challenges run for 6 weeks and you can enter any handmade Christmas themed project that uses the featured BINGO card.

Digital card design

Can you believe it that we are now already in May? Believe it a not, it is so and so here I am with my DT project for Jan's Digital Stamps Challenge blog. I am using both the image and a sentiment from the new Patriotic Poppies stamp set (linked below).

Embossing Powder Flowers

Hello crafty friends, I am back today with another card that is my project for the ongoing challenge with BożenA. This time it was my turn to stipulate the theme and I chose to use a Christine Stokes video for inspiration and create a focal point with embossing powder.

A sealed bouquet

Hello friends, I am a little late in the day on my blog post today. Work life is still taking a lot of my time at the moment, being the beginning of a new year. But I am seeing light at the end of it all and so I hope to be sharing more regularly again. Today I have another card I made with the Sealed by Spellbinders collection and my faux wax seal stamp and die set.

Layered windmill quilts

Today I am here with a project made with dies that Spellbinders sent me to create with. This is the Layered Windmill die set from the Home Sweet Quilt Collection by Becca Feeken. I didn't have any quilt dies in my stash, so I really enjoyed working with these.
