So a good long while ago I downloaded the Sketchbook app onto my tablet and kitted myself out with a fine tip stylus. But other than some doodles, I did not get to try digital coloring. But on Christmas day, I decided to try it with this cute Gingerbread girl in a mug for this month's challenge. And a challenge it was. I first had to figure out what pressure I needed on the stylus and then I also had to figure out what "pen" to use and how to blend the colors. But here we have a result.
It still needs a lot of practice and probably some research, but for a first try and using only the trial and error method, I will take it. I still prefer my Prismacolor pencils though!!!
I printed the image out and fussy cut it. I ran a black marker along the cut edge and added it to the bottom corner of a white cardbase. I added a die cut sentiment and some gems to complete my card.

Gorgeous. Lovely motif. Nice that you could try out a new technique. All the best with it when you get another chance to play.
ReplyDeleteGreat start Monica, I haven't had success with a pen, just use my mouse, but a pen to be learned is much better, go for it. A lovely card.

Once again you proved that you are a real computer graphic artist. Without any preparation, you have obtained such amazing color shading effects. I'm sure if you practice a little you will live up to your perfect coloring technique with Prismacolor. I'm so impressed, Monica!

Very cute card and the coloring looks real. I have zero interest in getting into that myself, but I can appreciate your interest in it and cheer you on! Hope you have a safe and happy new year's, xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and wow, you mastered this technique right away. I'm not good on the digital coloring, beautiful. Happy New Year, hugs, Lori m

Such a cute card! Thank you sp much for the Christmas card. I love it! My favorite color for Christmas cards is pink. I haven't gotten to make any cards this past year in pink because I was usually doing DT work. This year I'll be able to express myself a little more.
