The image was this cute octopus gentleman. However, Patricia had given the globe as a freebie to newsletter subscribers and I thought they worked perfectly together. I added the octopus to the globe in Silhouette Studio and then printed it out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper. I colored the octopus, his watery environment and the black part and silver buttons with my Prismacolor colored pencils. The gold is done with a gel pen.
I completed the card by adding a panel that I dry embossed to the card. I cut the globe out with my Silhouette and added a die cut sentiment to the top of the card.
And now for my news. Those of you who read my blog regularly know that we are full-time RV'ers. At the start of the new year, we traded our old RV in for a new one and guess what!! I have a craft room.
It still needs organization and is currently quite a chaos joint, but that will also come in time. I have cabinets on one side of the room with a little desk and on the other side is a sofa that has a table in front of it which works well for coloring and anything else that is not PC dependent.
So in the last few weeks it has been packing and unpacking. It will take a bit more time still to get settled into the new little space, but it is a project that is well worth tackling.

Monica, first let me say how wonderful your news is. Next, your card is just adorable, so cute and love the snow globe theme. Enjoy your new RV home, hugs, Lori m
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new crafting area. How wonderful to get a space dedicated to just crafting. I remember how thrilled I was when my husband finally turned our living room into a craft room for me. I finally got to stop crafting on the dining room table. We have lost that once again though. It is now set up for homeschooling. My craft room is large, but it also includes my piano, sewing table, my desk and my treadmill and a desk he built me for crafting. So, although it is big, it is very cluttered. The bad thing is when people come into the house they walk right into my messy craftroom. Oh well, it still makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteLove your new craftroom,I have just lost mine back into a bedroom for grandaughters and son and his fiancee have come to live with us and they have the bigger bedroom the girls had,so now my craft stuff is our bedroom!

A great mini aquarium for this octopus. I love that the card has a CAS style, great contrast and it's fun. I like how you added shine on the glass ball, it looks like an actual light blink on the glass.
ReplyDeleteI am very happy that you have already set up your craft room. This suggests that you will have more opportunities to create your beautiful cards.
