For this project, I used the Bouquet Sketch digi by Alex Syberia Design. After printing out the digi, I colored it with my Arteza real brush markers. I only used 4 colors for this image, namely pink, green, purple and brown. All the shading is done with water. So I put pigment in the shadow areas and then blended it to the lighter areas with water. As you can see, there is no printer ink bleeding.
I added a die cut sentiment in gold glitter cardstock with a black shadow to the card and added some hearts punched out of the same glitter cardstock and arranged them on the card.
I am sure you will see some more projects like this now that my Brother can help get all my beautiful flower digis onto watercolor paper.

ReplyDeleteLove the beautifully watercoloured flowersand they stand out perfectly against the embossed background.My printer has the attitude of a teenager-it dithers about deciding whether it will print today and if it does then spits it out halfway across the room and forget anything anywhere near 200gsm it throws a hissy fit and turns off!!!

Beautiful card, Monica! I've saved this post because my black n white laserjet is at least 15 years old and I've pretty much decided to replace it when it dies with a color laser. I too have that watercolor paper thickness criteria and it's the hardest thing to find out!!! I just want to be able to print out my digi stamps in black and white to paint them, that's all. ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning card, Monica. These flowers look beautiful on a black embossed background, a strong contrast enhances the flowers even more. I admire the craftsmanship in cutting these flowers by hand, excellent work!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if your new printer will be the best for gilding. Once I received a message that gilding works best with old models of laser printers. I personally haven't tested it yet, so I can't confirm.
