I knew that would be a tough job as BożenA has many beautiful projects on her crafty space and there are many that could be inspiration for a project. But this card really spoke to me, although I really don't have any flower stamps that I use, so I had to think about it. And then one day while looking through my stamps AGAIN, it struck. The bear with his big flower.
So I stamped the image and the sentiment in Versamark ink on heavyweight black cardstock and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then flicked gold metallic watercolor onto the background, masking off the image so that the paint did not splatter on there. I wanted a "path" of splatters going up the right side and tapering off to the left.
I then painted the flower with blue metallic watercolor, adding concentrated color in the middle and pulling it out to the ends of the petals with water. I added the black panel to a white side-folding cardbase.
I am so excited to see what project of mine BożenA chose to be inspired by and I invite you to visit her post and take a look. Leave her a comment while you are there.

Very ingenious. I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Monica, this card is amazing. I love how you saw and interpreted my card. I did not expect that you can use a stamp with the figure of an animal, but the idea of using such a stamp is great. I love the color of your daisy, I know the metallic paint looks so spectacular. You ran the splashes brilliantly, they look beautiful. Thank you for such an interpretation of my card, there is an element in it that led me to the trail and I guessed which card you chose. I am happy and thank you very much for this challenge.

This is such a dramatic-looking technique! I'm surprised how opaque the water coloring is on both of your projects, but then, I was surprised I could ink blend Distress Oxides on black card so... LOL Great art play from you both. xoxo
ReplyDeleteStunning card, love all the different techniques, hugs, Lori m

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to challenge each other and then to make the challenge CASE-ing each other - fabulous! :-D I love your blue flower against the dark background. Great job on the heat embossing.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Monica! The techniques are incredible! xx
ReplyDeleteI love how you did the flower. I didn't think watercolor paint would have showed up on black. It is really beautiful!
