I made this card for a lady that we have been lending support to who lost both her husband and her eldest son. I am not one that expresses myself well in words and so I thought a card would do that for me. I wanted to make the card as feminine as I could, hence the pinks. I wanted to divide the background between the embossed pattern and the checkerboard pattern (both techniques talked about in the class) and so opted for a large card - 5.5 x 8.5 inches. I don't normally make such large cards, so that was a new one for me.
The morning glory spray is an Altenew die set and the "prayers" word is a die for which I created a shadow on my Cameo. I have been working on creating shadows by scanning my dies with the Pixscan mat and then creating offsets to create the shadows. The sub-sentiment is from that same Hero Arts set as the prayers word die.
I completed the card by adding the two golden butterflies at the top of the card.

I love this Altenew die set. These clematis look beautiful and your arrangement is gorgeous. I did not think that the combination of patterned and embossed paper would be so nice. Amazing project

I love this. The morning glories are so very pretty and the papers are wonderful. They add color without overtaking the images.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning, Monica! Love the color combo and the combination of dies is superb. 😊
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas. Amazed about all the techniques.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Monica, and sure to bring comfort. So sad. I don't think I've ever seen half-and-half backgrounds like this and it looks cool ~ a very pretty design! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteOh such a pretty card, and of course I love that Hero Arts set. It looks familiar, lol. I haven't gotten into the shadow thing yet. Kudos to trying a half-sheet size card. I like to do one every so often but they seem just a tad too tall for the width, ya know? After I am finished making the card though I'm okay with it, lol. I'm sure your friend appreciates your gesture of caring. We cardmakers seem to be doing a lot of it lately, unfortunately. xoxo
