Microbeads

Today is December 15 and so time for another Crash your Stash challenge with the Outlawz. This is my last project as DT of the challenge team. This month our cue is microbeads. I actually think my beads are bigger than microbeads, but I think they worked OK. The sponsor is Pattie's Creations and I am working with the digi set Joy 1 and Joy 2.

Metallic and Black

As you will already know, my friend BożenA and I run challenges between each other as we are able, taking turns to choose the topics. This time it was BożenA that got to choose the topic and she chose a watercolor technique. The method is to smoosh metallic watercolor onto black cardstock and then use the result for either die cutting or a background. I opted to go with the die cutting of the metallic covered cardstock.

Use only Dies

Today it is time to show case the results of the next challenge between BożenA and I and this time it was my turn to give the theme. I decided to go with my second favorite card-making technique and that is using dies. So the challenge was "Use only Dies". No stamps, no coloring medium, no embossing folders. Only dies and cardstock or patterned paper.

Use a Charm

It has been a while since I had an Outlawz Crash your Stash project to show you as my stash is not very varied. But this month we are playing with charms and I have a few charms. November is Epilepsy awareness month, so I decided to use the awareness ribbon charm and make my card in two shades of purple.

The kittens

After forever, I have another project to show you which is late also. It is time for a new Progressive Challenge at the Outlawz (well it started on November 1 as always). This month our sponsor is Paper Nest Dolls and the image is Ellie with Kittens.

Cling Wrap

Hello, today I am back with another challenge project between BożenA and I and she was the one that came up with our challenge theme. Her choice was to use watercolors, cling wrap and colored pencils as displayed in this YouTube Video.

Progressive Transformation

Today is the 1 October. I cannot believe that we have started the last quarter of 2020 already. But it is also time for a new Progressive Challenge at Outlawz and our sponsor this month is Oddball Art. The image is called Sugar the Zombie.

The roses

I had to pull out my metallic watercolors again to play. They are so much fun and are beautiful to look at in real life even though photographs do them no justice. I needed a birthday card for a friend who loves roses, so I got busy.

Flower Crash

Today I am back with another DT inspiration for the Crash your Stash Challenge over at Outlawz. The purpose of the challenge is to get you to use something that is in your stash and you have not used in forever. The cue this month is paper or silk flowers. Our sponsor is Alex Syberia Design and I got to work with the digi called Candy Cupcake.

Partial die cutting

Today I am back to show you my make for a new challenge with BożenA. It was my turn to choose the topic and this time I opted for a technique rather than a topic and I chose Partial Die Cutting. The purpose of this technique is to take two dies and only partially cut each one so that one ends up with a new shape.

Inspired by Carole

Happy Friday! Hard to believe that it has come around again. Today I have a card to show you that was inspired by my friend, Carole. She created a card with a die cut lattice detail in the corner behind which she added a background that she had made herself. I used a digi from Imagine That Digistamp for my card.

Progressive Challenge

Start of a new month and it is time for the new Progressive Challenge at Outlawz. This month our sponsor is Jan's Digistamps and the image is from the Signs of Autumn digi set.

Metallic Clouds

Today I have a card to show you that finally has some pencil coloring on it again. This sweet digi is called Trixy Balloons and is by Digi Doodles Studio.

Tulips

As promised, I am back again with another card made with a Craft-A-Flower die set from Altenew. This time it is tulips.

Prayer hearts

It has been a while since I was able to show you anything here on my blog. There is a little thing called life that seems to have made my crafting time scarce in the last while. But today I have some Dahlia cards to show you. They are made with the Dahlia Craft-Flower-Dies from Altenew. I am loving this subscription.

More lilies

Thank you cards are the ones I need about as much of as general encouragement cards. So to replenish my stash and to play a bit more with my Craft-a-Flower lily dies, I created some Thank you cards. Each one has one lily and a leaf from the die set on it and the word "thanks", but each one sports a different color combo for the lily and a different background.

Tea time at Outlawz

Can you believe that it is the August 1 already? I cannot. But here we are, believe it or not and today I get to share this DT card that I made for the new Outlawz Progressive Challenge. Remember it is free to join and you will get the new image every month if you have created with the last month's image. Behind the Curtain

Today I am sharing the results of the next challenge with my crafty friend, BożenA. It was her turn to name the challenge theme and she chose "Behind the curtain" We were to depict something about ourselves that we don't reveal easily or talk about much. I thus decided that this was a topic for my art journal as I was going to portrait my take on feminism.

Sequins

The middle of the month means a new Crash your Stash challenge and this month the cue is Sequins. Sherry West is our sponsor and I am using her image called Fans. I had some purple sequins in my stash and so it was time to get them out.

My homeland

It is Friday, and I am here today to show you another project that is part of the ongoing challenge I have with BożenA. This time I chose the topic and decided on "My Homeland" The challenge was to depict the country in which we were born in any positive manner. Language alone did not suffice, but any topic could be chosen, namely scenery, characteristics, traditions, etc. While I now live in the stark, but regal state of Arizona in the USA, I am originally from South Africa, so here goes my project.

Christmas Cheer

My blog has been a little quiet lately. Unfortunately I have not been able to sit on my crafting chair much. But I am on the mend and so I can share this CAS card with you. This is my project for the Outlawz Progressive challenge for July. Our sponsor is Twinkle Lane Designs and the image is Gingerbread Treat - which comes with the image and two sentiments. I used one of them here.

Today I am back again with another card using a sweet image from All Dressed Up called Warm Hands Warm Heart. This is my last DT project for the Rabisco Challenge blog.

With Sympathy

Today I am back again with a new card, this time a sympathy card. I love lilies on sympathy cards and so reached for my Altenew Craft-a-Flower lily and chose some pastel colors and white for the layers of the lily and green for the stem and leaf.

So have you ever wondered why the fairies never come to help with the household chores like we expect them to? Well now you will know why. This card was inspired by my bloggy friend Donna, who creates the most beautiful fairy cards. While my technique employed here is very different to hers, the scene inspiration is thanks to her.

Happy Friday and here I am with another challenge project between BożenA and I. This time she chose the theme and to my surprise, her choice was "Color with Pencils" Well that is something I love to do and so I decided it was the perfect time to use this cute digi by Lemon Shortbread.

Happy Tuesday! Today I am here to show you a card with a bit of a difference. I recently picked up the new Craft a Flower Lily Die from Altenew and I had a play with it. I created a card with three lilies in pink.

It is Mother's Day tomorrow and since my Mom reads my blog, this is my social distancing way for sending a card and flowers this year. Mom, I am hono(u)red to call you my Mom. When times change again, you will get this card with the teddy and her pretty orange and yellow tulips.

Experimenting

Happy Monday! It is the start of a new week and can you believe it that we have already started May? Today I have a card to show you that stemmed from a video I watched on YouTube about combining label dies with coordinating dies for stamps and making a single focal point unit. I decided that that was doable on my Silhouette too.

Hello there!

Today I have a fun card to show you. The image is from Fabrika Fantasy and called Easter Chick, but I decided to use just the chick part of the image as she looked like she was doing a video chat with her friend. We have all learned a lot about video chatting with our loved ones lately, so this was perfect.

Good morning friends, it is Monday. We have a new week ahead of us, let us enjoy it. Today I have a card made with another image that I had printed out a long time ago and never got to coloring. It is a sweet penguin flying his kite and drawn by Conie Fong.

Into shape

So I am back again with another challenge product between BożenA and I. Yes, we only revealed one last week, but we both had our new project finished, so why wait? This time our challenge theme was "Shapes" You could choose any shape and it had to be depicted on at least 2 levels of the card. I opted to go with a hexagon.

Blank Dies

Happy Friday to all my blogland friends. I hope you are keeping well. Today I have a fun project to share with you, another challenge between my friend BożenA and I. This time she named the challenge theme and she chose the use of "blanking dies". So the purpose is to use die cuts cut out of white cardstock and then adding color with any medium of our choice.

Birthday Oops

Today I am here to show you a House Mouse card that I made. I have not done a make with the mousey friends for ages and so decided it was definitely time. This time I made a belated birthday card for those "oops" moments that seem to happen more often with the increase in a certain number that my ID declares me to have.

We are at the start of April and so time for a new Progressive Challenge over at the Outlawz. This month our sponsor is Star Stampz and the image is called Red String.

Interactive Intercontinental

Time for another challenge between my crafty friend BożenA and I and this time I got to choose the theme. I chose an interactive card as that would indeed be a challenge for both of us. I had previously seen a pop-up panel card done by Jennifer McGuire and so I decided that that would be the perfect technique to try here. While her's was a birthday card, I decided balloons work for encouragement too.

Small Format

Today I have a little project to show you. Little as in size as this is an Artist Trading Card (ATC). I joined in the Vera Lane Studio Facebook ATC swap this month. The theme is "Hello Spring" and what more springy is there than Tulips in Amsterdam? I used two sets namely, Amsterdam and Matryoshka dolls.

Floral Abundance

Today I am sharing another card I made with no coloring on it. I wanted to kill a few birds with one stone here, namely enter the current Path of Positivity Challenge, use my Spellbinders layered flower dies and make a card for my current Chemo buddy to encourage her on her journey.

Some tags

Life seems a little crazy right now, but I took some time to craft yesterday. I decided to unpack my supplies and make some tags. I have never made tags before, but I have seen people make lovely ones and so here I go. I made two.
