My focal image is from The Paper Shelter, is called "Autumn is Coming" and I printed it out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper. I opted to change the scene from a fall scene to a magical one and colored the leaves in pastel colors. The girl's face and hair and the leaves are done in Prismacolor colored pencils and her clothes are done in gel pens. Once she was colored, I cut her out with a stitched hexagon die and added her to another hexagon cut out of craft foam with the same die. I then glued all the elements to the topper, arranging the little hexagons in line with the embellishment. I added some Wink of Stella to the little hexagons.
I completed the card with a sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and a hexagon stopper cut out of silver metallic cardstock and popped up with craft foam.
We are not usually so fast with our challenges, but this one just seemed to flow for both of us and so here we are. Please remember to pop over to BożenA's blog too and see her interpretation of the "Shapes" challenge. Leave her a comment while you are there.

Hello Monica,
ReplyDeleteso this time we have completely different shapes, but strangely enough, I took out the hexagon dies from my drawer, but as I rummaged in the drawer new ideas emerged. The hexagons were the first ... :-) but I didn't use them. Monica, I love how you cleverly used all the hexagons. The shape of the card, even the easel card support has hexagons shape... Even your stained glass window consists of many hexagons, it's simply brilliant! The girl is so cute and as always, your coloring is stunning, especially the face, it looks like the picture. But not that nothing connects our cards ... there are circles in your background, and there were hexagon-shaped dies on my desk :-)
Monica, I have the impression that I did not fully understand the principle of this challenge. Were our various shapes supposed to repeat in many layers? Because I thought that they were only to be repeated in several sizes?
It was a topic that was sitting inside me when you said what the topic of our challenge was and the card was instant. It was a real pleasure of creation, without inventing and getting tired :-) Thank you very much for these moments of pleasure and the opportunity to have fun together.
hugs,
BożenA
