I cut the butterfly out again out of white cardstock which I colored completely with gold embossing powder. I added three layers of embossing so that it produced a beautifully smooth finish.
The leaves along the edge of the card are also cut out of white cardstock and I colored some with the same gold embossing powder, I colored some with copper embossing powder and some just got the Bridal Tinsel embossing powder. I made a card panel by running a piece of white cardstock through a Spellbinders embossing folder and adhered that to my cardbase. I then arranged the leaves up the right side and along the bottom of the card.
I completed the card by adding a sentiment cut out of black cardstock and adhered my butterfly to the top of the card. I glued the gold part of the butterfly to the colored part along the body only, so the wings raise off the card a bit for some dimension. I coated the sentiment in Wink of Stella, however that is not visible in the photos.
This topic was a challenge for me, but a lot of fun. I am excited to see what BożenA has to show us. Please take a look on her blog at Art Card Box and also leave her a comment while you are there.

Hi Monica!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that we could create fun together again. I love your way of seeing our challenge topic. The colors of your butterfly are amazing, I love how beautifully you matched the colors, so wonderfully mixing them at the border. You contributed to the butterfly's outline by covering it with EP. Falling leaves give the impression of movement, as if the butterfly and leaves were spinning in their dance. Yes, your card is very beautiful and I love your view on the challenge.
hugs,
BozenA
