Outlawz Progressive

We are at the start of April and so time for a new Progressive Challenge over at the Outlawz. This month our sponsor is Star Stampz and the image is called Red String.

I am not really a cat person (apologies to all my friends who are), but I thought this sentiment was perfect for my card and the bit I do know about cats is that they are very much their own individuals. Using MS Word this time, I created a rectangle sized at 4x5.25 inches and filled it with a plaid pattern from the Summer Plaids Collection by Periwinkle Pixel Shop. I then resized the digi and added the sentiment before printing the panel out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper.

I colored the digi with my Prismacolor colored pencils and added a sparkly gel pen to the hearts. I then trimmed the panel down and added it to a white top-folding card base.

Come and join us over at the Outlawz Progressive Challenge. We have a different sponsor every month and you get the image popped into your email box if you participated the month before.

  1. The sentiment is funny. I had to laugh because at first I thought the girl was holding a cat's leash. No cat would allow that.

    1. Hi, I have a cat that goes for a walk on a leash. When we reach the meadow, then I unfasten the leash and the cat runs slow, but when we get home it goes again on a leash.

  4. What a cute card, Monica! As a cat owner, I can vouch that cats are their very own individuals! One of my cats is very loving and sits on my lap all day if I'd let her. The other one I only see at feeding time! LOL

  5. I'm not a cat person either, Monica, but a big black stray wondered into my life 19 years ago and I've been spoiling her ever since. She's showing her age now and I'm very sad about that. She has a mind of her own, so the sentiment on your card made me laugh. After seeing all the cute paper backgrounds on your cards, I finally downloaded some beautiful paper from Etsy and can't wait to use it. You're my technology card guru. Beautiful coloring on this darling image.

  8. Monica- What a cute little girl! The blonde hair and purple sweater really set it off! Being a former cat owner (daughter had cats when she was growing up) I can identify with your sentiment! Beautiful card. Thanks for your entry in JDS Blog Challenge #10. Good luck, be safe.

  10. Yes, I agree with your predecessor that you are my guru in the field of working with digi stamps and combining them with different types of background. You also did it brilliantly here. Unfortunately, I would print the girl separately and cut it out with a knife after coloring. But cutting out does not give such spectacular results. A wonderful card :-)

  12. A lovely card, Monica! As you know I'm a big kitty cat fan, but your sentiment is funny and somewhat true! My 16 Casey is depending on us more and more. He likes his own time, but loves cuddles, especially when he is cold! Beautiful paper and gorgeous colouring! Thank you for sharing your project with us at the Crafts Galore Encore “Anything Goes” April Challenge. Good Luck and hope to see you again soon!
