Beautiful style

And this is my second project for today. We are Crashing our Stash again in a new Outlawz challenge and this month the cue is Ribbon. Our sponsor is Lemon Shortbread and I got to work with the Twirl Girl digi.

I sized her to fit onto a notecard in Silhouette Studio and then printed her out onto Canson C' a Grain drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I used a silver gel pen on her necklace and earrings. Once she was colored, I returned her to the Silhouette to cut her out. I created a cutline with a small offset so that her necklace would cut well. I cut another of the same shape out of plain white cardstock and glued the two together for a bit more stability.

I created a top-folding white notecard and added a white embossed panel to the front. I was going for a bit of white-on-white elegance here. I adhered my lady to the bottom right hand corner of the card. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink and coated it with clear embossing powder before cutting it out with a stitched label die from my stash. I popped that onto the card with foam tape.

This card is a very different style to what I usually make. Every one of us has our own unique style, whether in the creative process or in our person and that is worth embracing. But venturing out to try a different style is always a challenge worth taking on, as it leaves us with another notch on our experience board.

I made the ribbon embellishment using blue, yellow and white ribbon from my stash. I had wanted to make tiny ribbon roses for a while and this was the perfect chance to do so.

So if you have ribbon in your stash, which I am sure you do, please join us at the Outlawz Crash your Stash challenge. You have a month to enter and the theme is Anything Goes with the cue.
