Use a Charm

It has been a while since I had an Outlawz Crash your Stash project to show you as my stash is not very varied. But this month we are playing with charms and I have a few charms. November is Epilepsy awareness month, so I decided to use the awareness ribbon charm and make my card in two shades of purple.

Using my Hero Arts oval infinity dies, I taped some of them together with the center oval being big enough to still contain my sentiment. I then cut the taped together dies out of light purple and dark purple cardstock. Using a shipping label sheet from which I have peeled away the release paper, I laid the frame and then the ovals in alternating colors onto the sticker paper. This held my rings in place without adding bulk to my card panel.

I recently purchased some sentiment dies from Scrapbook.com and so this one was a perfect one for this card. I cut the sentiment three times and glued them together. I had put a purple thread through the charm and I placed the thread between the bottom and next layer of the O and then added the sentiment to the center of the card to complete the card.

I completed the card with a butterfly cut out of the light cardstock glued directly over the rings topped with one cut of the dark cardstock.

We look forward to seeing your creations using charms from your stash. Post the result over at the Outlawz Crash your Stash challenge. You have a month to enter.

  5. This is so pretty. I love all the concentric ovals. I have to get my thinking cap on and figure out what I want to do for my card.

  6. How brilliant to use the shipping label paper on the rings, but also getting them spaced just right, brava! LOL, I use the magnetic base platform on my Sizzix Big Shot all the time and sometimes those dies will move to the force, not where I place them. So I cannot imagine being successful without tape and the regular base platform. At any rate, a truly lovely CAS statement card and the charm is the perfect touch. XOX

  7. Wonderful card, Monica! Love the inlaid die cuts. This card would also work for a cancer survivor since purple is the ribbon color for cancer survivors. :-D
