I sized the digi in Silhouette Studio and created cutlines for the cloud and the hearts. I created a mirror image of each of the hearts also. I printed them out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper as I was originally going to add some shading with soft pastels. But once I had the cloud cut out and laid onto the background, I decided to leave it as it was. I added color to the hearts with gel pens and also ran a black marker along the edge of the cloud and the hearts. I cut a second cloud shape out of black cardstock and glued the two together.
I created the background with a Darice cloud embossing folder. I added Distress Oxide onto the side with the raised "sky" and ran the folder through my new Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. I do have to say that this machine is such an improvement to my old one, I could not believe myself. I also cut, embossed and inked the sentiment using a Spellbinders label die. I assembled the card onto a top-folding white cardbase and added twine to the hearts by gluing the two mirror imaged parts back-to-back and put the other ends under the cloud. The cloud was popped up with foam tape.
We would love to see your creations at the Rabisco Challenge. The theme is always Anything Goes with the use of some haberdashery.

I love how you created your sky with an embossing folder and oxide inks, Monica. Your new Spellbinders Platinum looks like it works beautifully. I have a Gemini Junior, but I'm not sure I love it. Your card design is beautiful, as usual.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the sentiment all I could think of was watching clouds as a kid and imagining all sorts of things in the clouds. So many shapes. Oh what fun that was. I still like to do that. [Bunny]
