Inspired by Carole

Happy Friday! Hard to believe that it has come around again. Today I have a card to show you that was inspired by my friend, Carole. She created a card with a die cut lattice detail in the corner behind which she added a background that she had made herself. I used a digi from Imagine That Digistamp for my card.

I printed the digi out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I then cut the flower out on my Silhouette Cameo and also cut a second shape out of black cardstock. I then created a cardpanel on my Cameo with the lattice cut design in the bottom corner. I backed it with a green plaid patterned paper. I then glued the panel to a white cardbase.

I ran a black marker along the edge of the digi and then glued it to the black cardstock shape. I adhered the flower to the top edge of the lattice cutout. The sentiment scripture is from the Word Art Wednesday blog. I printed it out onto white cardstock and cut it out with a Hero Arts circle die. I used a die one size bigger to cut another circle from black cardstock and adhered the two circles together.

I completed the card by adding the sentiment. I love this idea and I am sure that I will be making more cards like this in the future.

  1. Wow, I love this! How beautiful. I love your coloring of the rose. I may look for a similar design for my Silhouette. I have not used my Silhouette yet. I recently got a Cameo 4 and am quite intimidated by it. I wish someone would write a book explaining how to do all the different things it's capable of.
