Flower Crash

Today I am back with another DT inspiration for the Crash your Stash Challenge over at Outlawz. The purpose of the challenge is to get you to use something that is in your stash and you have not used in forever. The cue this month is paper or silk flowers. Our sponsor is Alex Syberia Design and I got to work with the digi called Candy Cupcake.

I printed the digi out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I added some purple gel pen to the sprinkles on the icing and some Nuvo Crystal Glaze into the center of the front heart cupcake embellishment.

I cut the digi out with a lacey oval die from my stash and adhered it to a green cardbase onto which I had glued a strip of patterned paper. I added the sentiment which is a Spellbinders die cut out of gold foil cardstock and I completed the card with a mulberry paper flower and some leaves from my stash.

Come and show us your flower cards over at the Crash your Stash Challenge at the Outlawz. You have till the middle of October to share your entry.

  3. I just read about these challenge on Darcy's blog. I'm going to give it a go. Lovely card. Yummy looking cupcake. We don't get to eat too many things like that at our age. Thank you for letting me know about the Silhouette. The info will definitely help. I made a Halloween card and was actually able to cut a spider web withg it! I had to buy a longer cord to use it with my computer...now I'm all set to go!

  4. Love the delicious cupcake, Monica, and your coloring is marvelous! Wonderful flower choice. I'm still debating abut what kind of flowers to use for the Crash Your Stash challenge but I'll get something done before the challenge ends next month.

  6. Very nice, Miss Monica! Loving the little touch of them there long leaves! To chew a bit more on that glue dilemma, I use tiny brushes with stubby short hairs, think they are called artist scrubber brushes. And I also have a lipstick brush I use since I am not into the whole draw-your-lip-line -- whenever I do use makeup, it's more often in my art, lol. XXO
