On the first card, I made the dahlia in shades of orange and yellow. The leaves are also put together of three shades of green. I tried a technique on the sentiment that I had seen Jennifer McQuire do. Using a Hero Arts stamp and die set, I stamped the word "prayers" onto acetate with Versamark ink and embossed it in gold. I then cut the word out of the card panel with the coordinating die and placed the stamped acetate piece behind the opening made by the die. The inlay effect is so pretty.
The second dahlia uses only two of the flower's layers, one in patterned paper and one in black cardstock. The variation in the patterned paper is so pretty. I added a embossed line above the sentiment and also added a stamped banner above the heat embossed word. I stamped the black text with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
My third dahlia also consists of only two layers. It has patterned paper as the base and then the detail layer cut out of gold glitter cardstock. I added three gems from my stash to each card to complete it.
The fourth flower has all three layers again. I had looked up dahlias and found that they are also available in this beautiful white and red variation.
My fifth example is again a two layer one, this time using a plaid paper as the base and the detail layer is done in black cardstock.
I had made these cards to send to some people who have current health issues. I placed a little felt heart inside each card as a symbol of my prayers and thoughts going out to them. The sentiment on the inside is also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Watch this space for another Craft-a-Flower card example. I have been playing catch-up

A wonderful card with a great intention. I'm sure the people who got them felt better right away. Personally, I would not be able to choose my favorite version, because each one is wonderful and unique, and sometimes surprising, like the one with checkered petals :-)

I'm playing catch up again, Monica, and have been browsing all your posts since I was last able to visit. You've been busy! And very productive. :-D I do love all of these cards and the different ways you did the flower on each one. So delightfully creative. :-D I may not have time to leave individual comments on every post but I've seen them all. lol
