I sized Trixy in Silhouette Studio and printed her out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper. I colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I added two spots of white on her sunglasses with a white Milky Pop pen. I find that this gel pen works the best over pencils - and I have tried a few!
Once she was colored, I returned her to my Silhouette to cut her out. I cut her and her balloons separately as I had a plan for them. I also cut the shapes a second time out of black cardstock. I ran a black marker along the edge of the digi and glued the two shapes together.
I created a background on blue cardstock with my metallic watercolors. Thank you to some inspiration from Kristina Werner, I created a cloudy wonderland on my background for Trixy to fly over. My panel was just regular cardstock, so I used the paints with as little water added to them as possible. I finished it off with the white metallic splashes in the sky to create some movement.
Another discovery I made a while ago is Scrapbook Pal's Scrappy Tape. I like to adhere my cardpanels with double sided tape to that the corners don't lift and so that the panel stays put. This has a lower price-point than the Scor-Tape I used to use, but works just as well. I have been very happy with the results. I used it here to adhere the panel to the black cardbase.
I added Trixy to her dream world, adding button thread as balloon strings and threaded it under her hands. I added the sentiment using a Spellbinders die that allows for cutting, embossing and stenciling. I popped the sentiment up with foam tape and that completed my card.

ReplyDeleteA sensational interpretation of this sweet digi. Your magical land looks like the Enchanted Land of Delicious Ice Cream. I would like to be there too. You used metallic paints nicely, they create a beautiful scenery for Trixy.
