The Extraordinary

I recently was able to choose some images from The Paper Shelter following a challenge win and this image just popped off the screen at me and I immediately had a card in mind.

The folder that the image comes in also has a digital paper background and a colored version of the digi. I worked in Silhouette Studio and created a square sized at 5x5 inches. I opened the background paper in GIMP and adjusted the color values till I had a more brown hue to my paper rather than the original pink. I then filled the square with the paper and added the image, positioning it as I wanted it. I added the sentiment in the bubble above the wand and colored the background of the bubble a bit by using the color picker in Silhouette Studio and choose a lighter color in the background paper.

I then printed the image and colored the two extraordinary people with my Prismacolor pencils. I did the band on the hat, the guy's waistband and the soles of his shoes in brown glitter gel pen and his shoes, the buckle on his hat and the studs on his waistband in gold glitter gel pen. Although one cannot see it in the photo, I applied Wink of Stella to the girl's wings. They sparkle beautifully in real life.

I then returned to my file in Silhouette Studio and cut the image out. I glued the color panel to a white 5.5x5.5 inch card base.

The merging of digital art with pencil coloring is still something I am new at. But I can see how the possibilities are limited only by imagination and I look forward to playing with it some more.
