Outlawz Progressive Challenge

I am back today with a second card. I have participated in the Progressive Challenge over at Outlawz every month since I discovered it. It has been a lot of fun. This month the sponsor is Oddball Art Stamps and Sorry Sally is the image. She arrived in my email inbox on April 1 and I thought she would make a perfect Miss You card.

I printed her out on Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I then determined where on the card I wanted her to peek out at and cut a heart shape into the card panel. I adhered her behind the heart shape and stamped the sentiment next to her in the heart with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

While I purposely left the rest of the card completely plain so that the whole focus would be on Sally, I felt her heart window needed a frame. I cut around the die before cutting it out and so creating a very thin purple frame to add to the window in the green cardstock. I then glued the whole panel onto a top folding white notecard.

General supplies:
Daler-Rowney Drawing paper
Reflections 110lb heavyweight cardstock
Green and purple cardstock
Oddball Art Stamps Sorry Sally digi
Prismacolor colored pencils
Versafine Onyx Black ink
Sentiment stamp from the Concord & 9th Hi There Bear stampset

  6. I came over to your blog to leave my comment, Monica, and I adore what you've done with the image! What a great idea to focus on the face. Fab coloring and I love the heart shape. It almost looks like an aperture in the card front. Well done!
