Welcome to a new challenge at World Wide Open Design Team challenge blog. If you are a member of any design team in the world, you are welcome to enter the fun Anything Goes challenge. Julia Spiri is the sponsoring artist for the challenges there and her artwork is such fun to color.
This month I am using the image Mushroom House. The enchantment of the image makes it such fun to color. I used the mushroom class in the Kit & Clowder Elements of Nature class to practice the single shrooms that I have in my project.
I then applied those same techniques to Julia's Mushroom House - doing all the image coloring with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I then fussy cut the house and the other mushrooms out once they were colored.
I created a frame with tree stem element for my 5x7 card on my Silhouette cameo. It was an interesting exercise to get the element so that the tree stems were attached to the frame rather than the spaces between the trees. But it happened. I inked the cardbase with Distress Oxide inks and then adhered the trees down with some of the smaller mushrooms behind the tree trunks.
I also cut a fairy silhouette out of black glitter cardstock and sat her on one of the mushrooms in front of her house. I added some white gel pen to the tree trunks and some golden embossed butterflies in random spots around the scene.
Finally I printed the sentiment out on my computer and cut it into a banner which I adhered to the top right hand corner of the card.
This was such a fun project to create. I look forward to seeing you over at World Wide Open Design Team Challenge blog. There are lots of mentionable categories.
