Quirky Rudolph

We have a new challenge starting at the Cute 'N Crafty Christmas Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes Christmas or Winter. Our sponsor this month is Polkadoodles and I got to work with this digi called Rudolph.

Well the great thing about being a colorist is that you can move from the realistic to the quirky at the drop of a hat - or is it a pencil? Today my Rudolph is wearing a chic purple coat. I printed him out onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored him with my Prismacolor colored pencils. The little flowers on his saddle are done with a red glitter gel pen and the white edge of his saddle is white Posca pen. This was my first time using the Posca pen as I have been having a hard time with my white gel pens lately.

Once I had colored him up, I cut him out with a Hero Arts Oval Infinity Die. I cut a purple oval one size bigger and then glued them together. I added a piece of Christmas patterned paper from my stash to a purple cardbase. I had recently acquired the Tim Holtz Holiday Word Script dies and cut the words Seasons Greetings out of white glitter cardstock.

I added the sentiment to the card and then the focal image and called it done.

The Cute 'N Crafty Christmas Challenge now goes for a month and it is August, so time to get those Christmas cards happening. We look forward to having you join us.
