Outlawz Progressive Freebie

As you know, I enjoy playing along with the Outlawz Progressive Challenge and this month the image is kindly provided by Imagine That Digistamp. The image is called Lorie's Mocha for all Seasons and so I decided to go with a Christmas cup, but with a twist in the background.

I designed my card in Silhouette Studio. I created a 4.25x 5.5 rectangle and filled it with a digital paper from the Coffee Digital Paper collection by AMB Illustrations. I added an oval to the side of the card which I wanted positioned behind Lorie and filled that with a paper from the Autumn Plaids collection by Perwinkle Pixel Shop. I love plaids and Lori, the owner of Periwinkle Pixel Shop, has a beautiful selection. I placed the digi over the oval to size her correctly and then moved her to another page as I wanted her separate from the background. I also placed the digital sentiment on the card, this comes with the challenge digi from Imagine That Digistamp.

I printed Lorie out onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I tried some shades of brown on her hair and her dress and added color to her coffee cup. The stripes on the heart on the cup are done in gel pen and sparkle most beautifully in real life.

Once she was colored, I returned the page to the Silhouette to cut her out. I ran a black marker along the edge to neaten the cut edge. Using her outline, I created a small offset and cut that shape out of black cardstock. I glued Lorie to the shadow shape and then popped her onto the card with foamtape. I then added the cardpanel onto a white cardstock top-folding cardbase.

Come and join us at the Outlawz Progressive Challenge. I have so enjoyed joining the fun every month. Thank you Imagine That Digistamps for the sweet image this month.
