The Twins

It is the first Friday of the month and time for the Chibi new release over at Scrappers Delights. As always, if you purchase the complete new release bundle you will receive the star sign chibi set with all the elements for free. This month the sign is Gemini and aren't these twins cute?

This is another card that I designed completely in Silhouette Studio. I created a 5x5 card panel in the software by drawing a 5x5 square on my page. Then I used the Polygon tool to create a triangle on each side of the square. I used these shapes to fill with the lovely digital papers that I had purchased from Periwinkle Pixel Shop. The set comes with the plaid and matching gingham in various colors. Once completed I added the line from corner to corner by created a very long, but flat rectangle. I colored that with one of the purple shades from the plaid paper.

I positioned the chibi element with the twins in a circle and also added the Gemini characteristics, also part of the bundle, to the right of them. The design was completed with the word Gemini backed by a lower opacity oval and all with enough space to stamp my sentiment across the top. I printed the whole design out onto Daler-Rowney Drawing Paper and colored the image with my Prismacolor colored pencils and did the circle in glitter gel pen. Once completed I cut the panel out, turning all cut lines off except the original square that I had done. All the other shapes were there for design purposes only and not for cutting.

I stamped the sentiment with one of the wood mounted stamps from my stash in Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I added the panel to a matte of purple paper from my stash and then added both to a 5.5x5.5 card base.

Remember to check out the new release at Scrappers Delights and also enter the current challenge while over there. You can also participate in the monthly Progressive Challenge in the Facebook group.
