Road Trip

Today is a three card day and here I am back with a card for the Rabisco May Challenge. I usually participate in the mid-month DT line-up, but since I had recently won this Dr Digi stamp, the sponsor for May is Dr Digi Stamps and I was wanting to play here, I created the card for the first of the month lineup. The stamp is called Summer Holiday.

I printed the image out onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Once colored, I fussy cut it. I cut the printed ropes holding the cases onto the roof of the bus off as I wanted to replace them with the twine.

I created a background scene with piece of patterned paper from my stash. I don't know what paper pad it came from as I have had it a long time. I cut the sheet down so that the road was slightly off centered. I was creating a 5.5x5.5 card and so cut the scene at 5x5. I then glued the holiday-maker onto my card with his one wheel in the grass.

Using the deer from the Spellbinders November Small Die of the Month kit, I added the outline of the die cut to my scene. Using another win, I stamped the "bon voyage" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink using a Kaisercraft stamp from the Just Landed set included in my prize.

I completed the scene by adding the twine from my stash and a dove silhouette using a die from the Spellbinders Dove Frame set. I then glued the scene to a black cardpanel which I then adhered to the cardbase. What a fun image this was to work with!

You can enter the Rabisco Challenge. The theme is Anything Goes, but you must include some form of haberdashery onto your project. It can be twine, lace, ribbon, buttons, etc.
