Photo frames

It is time for a new Crash Your Stash challenge over at Outlawz. These challenges are such fun as the theme is Anything Goes as long as you use the item from your stash that is the current month's cue and that you need to find in that back drawer. This month the cue is Photo Corners.

Well my stash is not old enough to contain photo corners. Most of my crafting has happened in the digital age, so I thought why not combine the old with the new. So, as mostly, I created a cardpanel by creating a rectangle in Silhouette Studio sized at 4x5.5 inches. I filled it with a background paper from the Party Celebration digital paper stack by We Are 3 Digital Shop. I adjusted the hue of the paper so that the blue paper turned pink. I then created an element on my card with a .png digital element from the Tropical Snap Shot collection by We Are 3 Digital Shop. In the clear space that is left for an image, I inserted the sweet precolored image from Imagine That Digistamps called Mailbox Kitties. I created a cutline around the elements and filled the box with a color from the background paper that I chose with the eyedropper tool.

I then moved the square card element, with all the parts of it grouped together, to a separate part of the page so that it would print and cut separately from the main panel. I then printed the page and returned it to the Silhouette to cut the two parts out. Then I made two photo corners out of a 1 inch square of cardstock each using the YouTube tutorial by Wendy. I then added them to opposite corners of my focal element and then popped the whole element up with foam tape.

I completed the card by adhering the panel onto a cardbase and then the focal element onto the panel. I decided the kitties in the mailbox made a perfect Thank you card and so cut the word thanks out twice, once in pink and once in green cardstock and offset them slightly on my card so that the green word has a pink shadow.
