These are 5x7 cards. I wanted that gorgeous 3D embossing folder to shine and there just was not enough real estate on a notecard for it to do so next to the large ornament. I made the cards in non-traditional colors, using teal, pink and purple.
For each ornament, I cut two layers of heavyweight white cardstock and then a layer of colored cardstock to coordinate with the background, but a lighter shade so that it would be well visible. I glued all three layers together to make a sturdy ornament. I arranged the Christmas Blooms dies, also cut out of shades of the same color, to the ornaments, trimming off the excess. I then inked the edges with Distress Oxide ink in the same color.
I enjoy monochromatic cards and that style lent itself well to these non-traditional cards.
