New color scheme

It is time for a new challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge blog and this time our sponsor is Ching-Chou Kuik. While I have seen projects using her digis, I have never used one myself. I got to work with the image entitled Winter Cuddle.

I printed the image onto Canson C' a Grain Drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I recently purchased a book called Practical Color Combinations - a great resource for choosing color combos for any project and this was my first project using a scheme from my book. Once she was colored, I cut her out with an oval die and also cut an oval from a yellow-green glitter cardstock and matted the image onto it. I found the perfect patterned paper for the background in my stash and added the panel to a cardbase.

I completed the card by stamping the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing it with clear powder.

The Colour Crazy Challenge is an Anything Goes challenge as long as you have something hand colored into your project. Come and join us, we love seeing your makes.

  6. Hi Monica! Thanks for entering your card in our Artsystamper Challenge! I love the coloring you did with your Prismacolors...they are my favorite pencils, and the alcohol markers as well. You can see my work in my Etsy shop, TheArtsystamperShop, all one word. Sometimes I combine the pencils and markers.

    Hugs,

  13. Beautiful work, Monica! The girl and her cuddly friends are perfectly coloured. I'm thinking of trying pencils for colouring, but can't decide which brand to buy. Do you recommend Prismacolor - do they break easily? xx
