Christmas and foil

I have often seen cardmaking videos on YouTube where folks have included foil into their creations. The beauty that the foil brings to the card was always breathtaking. When I learned that I could foil with adhesive, I decided that I had to try it.

I created 20 Christmas cards using these 3 designs in various patterned paper variations all with the die cut in the opposite color to the sentiment matte. I embossed the card panel with a Darice snowflake embossing folder. I gold heat embossed the sentiment using a stamp from my stash.

The ornament die cut cards got a strip of foil along the bottom of the card adhered with 1/8 inch double sided tape. The foil on the ornament was added with a Zig two-way glue pen.

On the candle cards, I also added the strip of foil along the bottom and the glued foil onto the flame of the candle.

And finally on the nativity scene cards, I added the glued foil onto the star and the halos of the die cut in addition to the strip across the bottom.

Removing the transfer paper after adding the foil is such a great pop moment. Almost as exciting as that moment embossing powder goes from powder to shine.

You will definitely be seeing more foil on this blog.
