To make this card, I cut the background panel down to allow a small frame to show on my notecard and then adhered it to a white side-folding cardbase. This month's Altenew Craft A Flower die set is a Morning Glory and so I could make blue flowers without getting whimsy! I die cut the pieces and then assembled them. When I laid them onto the background, I felt it needed a little bit of muting just right in the corner and so a triangle of vellum came to the rescue.
Following the tip that Jennifer McQuire showed on her channel using Press 'n Seal to keep my arranged bouquet in tact, I lifted it to apply the glue to the back and then adhered it to the card.
The sentiment is a Hero Arts die which I cut three times out of black cardstock and then adhered together with E 6000 spray glue. I added the sentiment to a piece of white cardstock and fussy cut around the word to make a shadow.
I completed the card by adding Wink of Stella to the dark blue sections of the flowers and also Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the sentiment. I love that epoxy look that the crystal glaze gives to anything one puts it on.
And now the card is on its way to the sweet lady that sent me the laminator off my Amazon wish list.

Monica your card is just fabulous. I haven't seen the laminators used for foil before and you sure made a gorgeous card with it. I'll have to check this out, very pretty, hugs, Lori m
ReplyDeleteIt looks really fabulous, Monica, and so much dimension with your contrast of sparkle and matte! Lovely! hugs, de

I love a morning glory. Especially blue ones. Very pretty. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteAwesome design here and fantastic colours and foiling.
ReplyDeleteGosh, Monica, that turned out amazing! I Pinned this because I, too, have all the supplies and have only foiled once, using the Deco Art Transfer Gel and was shocked it worked. I received a Scotch T901 laminator for 2019 Xmas and have yet to use it. I'm skeered! haha I have Altenews Painted Flowers stamps+dies where you layer the ink and haven't used them yet. Skeered! So, maybe you can inspire me? Yours came out so good. I keep reading horror stories where it just doesn't stick and the laminator's not hot enough. I am thinking, iron? haha Great job! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHaha, Amy - I iron my art work all the time! xx
DeleteSometimes there are happy accidents in "mistakes" and I think this card proves that, Monica. It's beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card, Monica! The foiling turned out lovely and the die flowers are simply beautiful. xx
ReplyDeleteThe effect from the laminator may not have been intended, but it's amazing. If we tried to create exactly this gilding, it would not be possible. Sometimes chance creates amazing things. I love your project. These clematis flowers look beautiful against this background
